He'll have a shot. He has size, skates well and can play the game as either a W or C. And he is willing to hit people.

Yes! He's always been a guy I've wanted to see in Chicago. I've echoed that a few times on these exact message boards.

He didn't turn out the way Carolina or Toronto had hoped with his 1st round draft pick status but to be honest I'm not sure what they were expecting. He never really put up big numbers and it appears he's settled into a nice energy role.

Hope to see him in the future on a fourth line in Chi-town.

Edit: the line of Bollig-Flick-Paradis hopefully will gain some chemistry in the AHL because the very well could be the future 4th line in the show.

Although the odds are against it, it is conceivable that Bollig-Flick-Paradis could be the Hawks' fourth line in two years. Bollig and Paradis also kill penalties. Those two, at least, look like fourth line wingers in the NHL. Big, nasty and with enough hockey ability to play in the NHL.

PPG wise he has a comparable number to either Morin, Hayes or Shaw... Did you seriously expect him to average 1.25 PPG out of hte gate?

How does McNeil look in regular WHL games compared to the Super Series? I watched Game 1 vs Russia and I wasn't all that impressed. He seemed out there for the sake of eating minutes. He didn't handle the puck well and got pushed off quite a bit. Not sure the two levels of competition are comparable.

Listen, he's doing fine for where he is in his development curve. The problem is not him, it's the ridiculous expectations the organization has created around him.

Like I say, sometimes you look up and see him make a play, skate hard toward the net and say, he looks like a young Marian Hossa. Other times, he is invisible for long stretches. I don't think the effort is inconsistent. I think the confidence and know-how is and that will come with time. I think the question remains how good he will be in the nHL, not whether he will be at least a solid NHL player (he will be).

I honestly dont think Shawn Lalonde will ever stick in the NHL at this point.

I will just say this, he dominates physically in much the same way Beach did in the same league at the same age—for the same reasons and in the same way. He is physically stronger and more mature than most of the players he faces in the W.

That said, he looks to me to be a versatile, physical and willing player.

Funny, watching he and Danault back to back against very similar competition, Danault feels to me to be the more creative, instinctive and skilled player. McNeill is more of a wrecking ball. Of the two, Danault, at this moment in time, looks more like a pure center, where McNeill looks like he could play the wing. That could change. Danault also looks more like a potential second line center where McNeill is going to be a third line C or 2nd line W.

Some might disagree with me, but Danault, from what I have seen of him in various games and situations now has some pretty high-end playmaking ability and put him with a Hossa and a Saad or Stalberg, and he could be a very effective 2C.

I will defer to Chris Block from thirdmanin.com, a smart guy who follows Rockford closely: Lalonde could benefit from a change of scenery (organizations). He has NHL talent but He is in a rut of bad decisions and a lack of confidence in his own end.

Another Rockford guy who is growing on me every time I watch him: Ryan Stanton.

Even in a lock-out year, he just isn't as dominant as someone with as much pro-experience + natural skill should be. Definitely needs a change of scenery.

We'll take a Flyer on him in Philly (no pun intended), another talented defensive prospect wouldn't hurt. Don't know exactly what he's worth, can't imagine more then a low pick or a 1 for 1 prospect swap.

He has good enough size, can really skate, run a power play and has a very strong righty shot. IMO that's why he's still a legit prospect. With value.

Hi JJ!! Hope you are doing well, I would just like to add that Danault is doing pretty good at the dot, around 55% for the season,I'm not sure how well that will translate in the NHL,but he does take the teams majority of faceoffs as well!

JJ have you been keeping up with Teuvo? He has been much better since coming back from his injury, and has already notched an assist in the first period tonight!

That line Danault was on was pretty impressive in their 2nd game of the Super Series. Danault has a motor.
